We are very grateful to have the support of the following National, State and Local organizations.
The City of Tallahassee cares greatly about the continuous improvement of the quality of life of this community, and addressing food insecurity remains a top priority. The Leon Fruit and Nut Exchange is an innovative program. Not only will low-income and under-served populations of Tallahassee benefit, but the additional education and resources provided through this program creates a long-term plan for the care of soil and natural habitats. This aligns with the City’s sustainability objectives, while also addressing the health and wellness of the community.
The City support the efforts of the Exchange by providing outreach opportunities for the Leon Fruit and Nut Exchange at various City-sponsored events, as well as through program promotion via social media.
Frenchtown’s Heritage Hub is excited to support the Leon Fruit & Nut Exchange which, aligns with our mission in a number of ways, including food access, environmental sustainability, and community-based collaboration. Frenchtown Farmers Market @ Heritage Hub provides small farmers and vendors with a low- barrier sales platform, marketing support and business development opportunities, facilitating access to fresh food for families with significant economic constraints, and for people who have an interest in sourcing their food locally to support environmental, social and economic sustainability. We thrive on community partnerships, and strive to create a replicable program that can support the elimination of health and economic disparity among communities of color.
